Steve DeLuca has been with the firm since 2004. Starting at Holzman Corkery as a law clerk during law
school, Steve’s practice areas now include collection, litigation, appeals, real estate, and Chapter 7
bankruptcy.
Steve regularly appears in courts throughout the state obtaining successful results for credit unions in
collection matters. He diligently works with clients and debtors to reach resolutions in collection cases.
Steve also assists in complex litigation cases.
Steve routinely assists credit unions in drafting lease and purchase agreements for REO properties. He is
also experienced in handling real estate litigation involving lien priority disputes. Recently, he assisted in
drafting a successful appeal to the Michigan Court of Appeals regarding the requirements to create a
legally enforceable future advance mortgage. The court’s opinion has been published becoming legal
precedent for lower courts to follow.

Steve enjoys spending time with his wife, Melanie, and their horses, Archie and Shooter. Steve also
enjoys running and participates in road races during the summer. In addition, he likes camping and
spending time in northern Michigan.
